Dr. Rohith Chandrasekar Program Manager Defense Sciences Office

Dr. Rohith Chandrasekar joined DARPA in the Defense Sciences Office in June 2020. His current interests include static and dynamic planar imaging systems, nonlinear optical devices, and radar systems.

Chandrasekar comes to DARPA from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, Research Directorate (NGA/Research) where he was a program manager developing planar optics and quantum sensors to support DoD and Intelligence Community (IC) needs. Chandrasekar was named a 2020 IC Science and Technology Fellow for his efforts in collaborating with DoD/IC agencies, academia and industry to scale planar optics to revolutionize our National Technical Means (NTM) systems. Prior to joining NGA/Research, Chandrasekar was a lead scientist at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he served as a scientific and technical consultant to DARPA programs across diverse areas of science and technology. Chandrasekar received his B.S. and M.S. in electrical engineering from The Cooper Union in New York City, and his doctorate in electrical engineering from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
