Mr. Aaron Kofford joined DARPA in January 2019 as a program manager in the Strategic Technology Office (STO). Kofford has worked on advanced emerging technology projects for NASA, DoD, and the Intelligence Community (IC). He has broad experience in many challenging fields including underwater Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT), advanced electronic warfare techniques, small size, weight and power (SWaP) sensor systems, heterogeneous systems of systems, and internal rocket motor ballistics.
Prior to joining DARPA, Kofford worked as a scientist and program manager at Raytheon BBN Technologies on a wide variety of DARPA and IC projects in the fields of sensing, algorithms, systems of systems, and effects generation. Before that, he worked on NASA launch vehicles as an internal rocket motor ballistician running performance predictions and post-flight performance evaluations for the Space Shuttle as well as future manned launch vehicle designs.
Kofford earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Colorado School of Mines.
