Mr. Patterson has over 36 years of experience as a civilian in the Department of the Air Force R&D acquisition system, managing a variety of basic research, exploratory research, advanced development, and other programs, including solar power for satellites, supply chain risk management, AI for white collar automation, hardened materials, novel biomaterials, biomimetics, biosensors, and the microbiome of the built environment. Mr. Patterson is a senior program manager in the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Materials and Manufacturing Directorate (AFRL/RX), and serves on numerous working groups across the DoD and federal government. He is also the RX Lead for Personnel Recovery and a senior advisor for the Junior Force Warfighter Operations in RX (JFWORX) program. Mr. Patterson is a former officer in the United States Navy Reserve, Naval Sea Systems Command and holds B.S. in Systems Engineering. He has firearms and basic life support instructor certifications.
